Tom Burke was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1996. He had chemotherapy , surgery and radiation to remove the tumor.  In 1998, Tom learned the malignancy was in his liver. Tom was a hero and a source of strength for many friends, teachers, students, parishioners, nurses and doctors. Most of all he was a hero to his family. This is what his mother had to say about the CURE Parent/Child Handbook.

"Two CURE Parent Advocates brought us a wonderful notebook that I carried with me everywhere. I never left the house without that book for the next two years.  It gave me information on everything from nutrition to doctors phone numbers! CURE updates the handbook on a regular basis, so when families get it, they receive current information as well as answers to frequently asked questions such as what to do when your child has a fever - and all the other information the doctors tell you but is so hard to retain..” Kathryn Burke
