November 2021 Newsletter

Hello, November.png

C.U.R.E. has been here.

From the day of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond:
The support doesn’t stop when the treatment stops.

And we are so thankful for our friends who make our support possible.

Spotlight on: Brandon

Brandon wants you to know that he has a twin sister and is a big fan of Ninja Turtles. His mom says that he is very brilliant and loves helping.

In the hospital, he loves the toy room, especially the trains.

Cristina, JJ and Ian all came to our office in October to ring their bell! This is a very special celebration - ringing the bell signifies the end of treatment!

C.U.R.E. is happy to be a part of this ceremony and wish our families well!
And remember our support does not stop with treatment: we are here for you!

Conquer Cancer in Kids:
make childhood cancer research a priority:

We invite our families and supporters to join CNN’s Rene Marsh as she advocates to make childhood cancer research a priority! Sadly, Rene lost her two year old son, Blake, to brain cancer in April 2021. She is now working with CNN and childhood cancer awareness advocates to make a difference!

GRYT Health connects patients and caregivers to others with shared experience and to information relevant to their journey.

Through the GRYT app, we’ve created a platform for people affected by cancer to connect to others with similar experiences, and to tailored information that helps our users become more aware of options specific to their needs or diagnosis – empowering them to make choices that are right for them.

Our community of patients, survivors, medical professionals, researchers and advocates across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 100 countries worldwide have participated in almost 1,000,000 interactions to date, inspiring people to live according to their own standards.

Trust from our community is paramount to our success and something we take very seriously. We never share any of our users’ information without their explicit permission. Unlike other apps, GRYT is the first social community that is funded, built, and run by patients and caregivers where users communicate anonymously in real-time and each person is 100% in charge of what happens with their data.

Showing our gratitude in November…

Thank you, Bill & Pub 235!

Running a business right now has unique and difficult challenges, but our Friends wanted our families to know they hold them close to their hearts. They added planning and executing a golf tournament to their list of things to do. And boy, did they! $5,000 was donated to C.U.R.E. as proceeds from the event, letting our families know they aren’t alone in their battles. Thank you, Bill & Pub 235. You’ve made a difference!

The Shops on West Ridge

Held the 1st Annual car show the last Sunday in August.

C.U.R.E. was honored to be selected as beneficiary for the proceeds from this event. 200 Shops, 50 cars, and countless number of attendees showing support for our families while looking at some cool cars.

Thank you!

Undersheriff Korey Brown inspired one of our friends from 7North, Joe Collins, to spread awareness last month.

Joe ran his own 5K a day, but added a weighted vest along his journey.

Thank you, Joe, for all that you do day in and day out for our families and raising awareness last month.

Thank you!

Undersheriff Korey Brown ran a “5K a Day” for the entire month of September.

Each day, Undersheriff Brown dedicated his run to a different child. On September 25th he was joined by his friends and supporters in law enforcement and beyond, to help raise awareness.

Thank you!

To Sean Fico and Vanessa Carroll, and the entire Pane Vino Team for planning and participating in the first ever the Cocktails for a Cause event to benefit C.U.R.E.

The evening was beautiful - both the venue and the generosity were overwhelming. We are gracious for your kindness.

Thank You, Jessica & Driss

For their recent nuptials, the pair requested guests make a donation to our organization. Thank you so much for thinking of our families on your special day! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together!

Shopping for a Cause

Thank you to all the shoppers, vendors and organizers for your continued dedication to our C.U.R.E. Families. We are excited to continue this partnership into next year and we cannot wait to see what your artisans will create next. Laurie, the philanthropic mission of Shopping for a Cause is incredible and we are humbled to have been included. Thank you!

Standing ovation for the DAWGS!

What happens when you have a group of guys working together for year who have a common interest in music? An awesome band is formed!

Earlier this year, the Dawgs reached out to C.U.R.E. offering to perform a charity concert. It was a great night of good music and good friends! We are looking forward to their next concert supporting our families.

Thank you, Dawgs, for thinking of our families and including us in your philanthropic mission.

Thank you Mustangz!

Our friends at Roc City Mustangz helped us raise awareness and funds for C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association with their “Playing for Keeps“ car show last month.

Special guest Judge JJ chose the “C.U.R.E. Choice” Award winner.

Thank you so much to our friends Jessica and CURE Bears for Hope and Love and Kara, who each individually facilitated Cuddle Bear Drives for C.U.R.E. during the month of September. We received a wonderful donation of Cuddle Bears and Cuddle Bear books from Usborne Books & More as a result of their efforts. Our kiddos are going to LOVE these donations. Thank you for thinking of them!

Thank you, Motorcycle Poker Run Friends!

Our Annual Event held on Sunday, August 29th at the Rush Creekside Inn was a huge success! We are so grateful for the stops: No BS Brewery, Dublin Farms Brewery & MicGinny’s on the River for hosting our riders! A big thank you to The Great American Jam Band for rockin’ the tunes. Thank you to all the donors who donated items for the raffle. And a BIG thank you to the volunteers who made this happen! Thank you for spending your day raising money and awareness for our families. 2021 Holiday Heroes Campaign

The past nearly two years have been tremendously difficult, but some true heroes have emerged from all around us: Healthcare Professionals, Grocery Store Employees, Your neighbor who dropped off food to you and your family, (and especially!!) Our kiddos who keep fighting through their diagnosis & treatment, Their parents who courageously fight alongside their children while balancing everything else their lives involve...Heroes are all around us. Sometimes, they don’t get the recognition they deserve. Now is your chance to recognize the special Hero(es) in your life. We are again partnering with The Messenger Post/Gannett to offer our Holiday Heroes campaign. Messages and ads will be printed in the Democrat & Chronicle and viewable online the week of Christmas.
