C.U.R.E. is here.

From the day of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond:
The support doesn’t stop when the treatment stops.

And we are so thankful for our friends who make our support possible.

Spotlight on: Evah

Meet our friend, Evah.

Evah Elizabeth Daniels was only 22 months old at the time of diagnosis with B cell A.L.L. on December 2, 2021. She stopped walking early November 2021 and was sent to Orthopedics. She wore a cast on her left leg as it was believed she had a toddler fracture that wasn't showing on the x-ray. She is currently doing well on treatment and is finishing the IM1 phase and will be entering the DI phase soon, which is one of the most challenging with multiple chemos and steroids that will be given. She is the baby of our family of 3 girls ages 7, 5 and Evah who is now 2.

Thank you, Laurie!

We have enjoyed having Laurie on Staff here at C.U.R.E. for the past year. She’s been wonderful about being flexible with planning due to COVID and being a team player throughout her tenure. Please join us in saying Thanks and wishing her luck in her next endeavor!

Congratulations, Michelle!

Wishing our Parent Advocate, Michelle, a very Happy 3 Year Anniversary this month with C.U.R.E.!

You make a profound impact in the lives of our Families and we are so glad you’re here!

Thank you, Carrighan!

Congratulations to our Spring Intern, Carrighan, on finishing her internship with us here at C.U.R.E.! You may have seen her around at events or in the office, but she provided a LOT of behind-the-scenes help! The Penny Drive she spear-headed raised over $4,000, many of our Families enjoyed February Break and Spring Break activity bundles that she assembled and you likely saw her at the Easter Egg Hunt or Knighthawks Game!

Thank you, Carrighan, for your help this semester. Wishing you luck in all that you do!

It’s a date!
In-Person events are back!

Congratulations,
Brandon

Our Friend Brandon, joined by his twin sister, brother, sister and mom celebrated his end of chemo in our office. He rang the End of Chemo Bell with pleasure! His handprint had been added to our “Handprints of Hope” wall!

Congratulations, to Brandon and his family!

Please reach out to Laurie Streb if you are interested in a private fishing charter.

GRYT Health connects patients and caregivers to others with shared experience and to information relevant to their journey.

Through the GRYT app, we’ve created a platform for people affected by cancer to connect to others with similar experiences, and to tailored information that helps our users become more aware of options specific to their needs or diagnosis – empowering them to make choices that are right for them.

Our community of patients, survivors, medical professionals, researchers and advocates across all 50 states in the U.S. and in more than 100 countries worldwide have participated in almost 1,000,000 interactions to date, inspiring people to live according to their own standards.

Trust from our community is paramount to our success and something we take very seriously. We never share any of our users’ information without their explicit permission. Unlike other apps, GRYT is the first social community that is funded, built, and run by patients and caregivers where users communicate anonymously in real-time and each person is 100% in charge of what happens with their data.

Thank you, 5k and Fun Walk Supporters!

Our 13th Annual 5k and Fun Walk presented by Cornerstone Wealth Management was fantastic! We had over 350 participants registered for the event and 22 Teams. A special thank you to our team of volunteers who came out to keep our participants safe and distributed refreshments, to the Irondequoit Police Department for helping keep the route clear and our friends at I-Square for hosting. We are so thrilled to have hosted this event live and in-person again. You all sure did show us some love and we are very grateful!

”Every Adventure Begins with a First Step.”

Our friends at Riley Joy Candle Co. and Bare Element shined a light on Childhood Cancer this past September. Through the sale of the Pediatric Cancer Awareness Candles, nearly $1,000 was raised for our organization! Thank you for raising awareness and funds for our Families!

Glimpse of Gold's purpose is to encourage people to take the next step, even if childhood cancer is not directly affecting you or your family. Glimpse of Gold hopes to educate others on different ways to help, while encouraging people to think about the topic a little longer than they normally would.

Glimpse of Gold is so excited to be collaborating with C.U.R.E for the next few months! This collaboration involves providing monetary donations directly to C.U.R.E. At the minimum of a $20 donation to C.U.R.E., an embroidered beanie with the slogan “Only Sunshine Ahead” will be given to a child currently going through treatment at Golisano Children's Hospital (For example, if you donate $40 two beanies will be sent to two different children in bright and beautiful packaging to bring some light to their dark times). In return, the first 100 people that donate will receive a silicone wristband with the same slogan as the children’s beanies, stickers, and a thank you note! Please note that all shipping will be coming directly from Sydney Lewandowski and not C.U.R.E.

If you have any questions please contact Sydney Lewandowski. You can reach her on both Instagram and Facebook @glimpseofgold.roc or email her at glimpseofgold.roc@gmail.com
